Read MoreSara holds a Doctor of Clinical Psychology from California Southern University, as well as dual Master of Science degrees from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida: one in Counseling with a specialization in Mental Health Therapy and another in Conflict Analysis and Resolution. She is a Certified EMDR Therapist, an EMDRIA Approved EMDR Consultant, a facilitator of EMDR Basic Training practicums, and a LENS Neurofeedback Provider.
With over three decades of experience in the field, Sara has worked since 1988 with individuals of all ages, including children, youth, adults, couples, and families, addressing complex mental health challenges. Her professional experience spans non-profit organizations, government agencies, educational institutions, and private practice, primarily in and around Calgary. Over the years, she has provided extensive training, workshops, and presentations on various mental health topics. Since transitioning to private practice in 2011, Sara has had the privilege of working with diverse client groups, including members of the Calgary Fire Department, Calgary Police Service, RCMP, Veterans Affairs, Workers' Compensation Board (WCB), and WorkSafeBC. Additionally, she offers therapeutic services, supervision, and consultation to fellow therapists across Canada.
Sara has pursued advanced clinical training in a variety of therapeutic modalities, and her approach is rooted in EMDR Therapy protocols, integrated with Parts/Ego State Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Somatic Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) strategies, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Non-Violent Communication (NVC), Imago Therapy techniques, LENS Neurofeedback, and other trauma-informed approaches as required.
